In August 2021, Max headed to San Diego for a friend’s bachelor party, not knowing he was about to meet someone life-changing. Bradley, a nurse living in San Diego, had just returned from a photo shoot in LA and was out with his friend Sammy, who happened to know Max. They all met up at Rich’s, a popular bar, and as soon as Max spotted Bradley—rocking Crocs, a backwards hat, and a fanny pack—he was hooked. Bradley’s easygoing vibe pulled Max in right away, and they spent the night laughing, talking, and dancing (despite Max’s questionable moves). When Rich’s closed, Bradley invited Max to an afterparty, where they kept the conversation going until nearly sunrise.

The next morning, Max woke up to a message from Bradley, and after some convincing from friends, he decided to extend his trip. For the next few days, they explored the city, had wine on the beach, and felt an undeniable connection. Bradley even dropped the “L-word” on day two.

After a few months of long-distance, Bradley took a leap and moved to Portland for a travel nurse job. He got his own place (mostly for his corgis) but spent almost every night with Max. Eventually, they moved in together, living next door to their best friends, Patrick and Kelsey.

Over the years, they met each other’s families, traveled, and shared countless moments. On a special trip to Maui, Bradley surprised Max with a sunset proposal on the beach, and Max, teary and overjoyed, said “yes.”
